A Test of Skill For a Cabinet King (a Short Story)

Years ago, my workers and I were knee-deep in work on a custom kitchen remodel for a pretty Boulder home. Right at about the midway point, we hit a huge snag in our operation: the wood we were using for the cabinets started warping due to unexpected changes in humidity.


I had to figure something out, and fast. We sourced a more suitable wood that was better for Colorado's moody weather. Then, we worked extra hours to redo all the cabinets. It was tough, but we wanted to make sure it was all in perfect order.


The new cabinets looked amazing when we were done. They were a perfect fit in the kitchen, and the homeowners loved them. This project taught us a lot about solving problems on the fly.
